Understanding the Overflow Vent:
This overflow vent serves as a preventive measure against sink flooding. It redirects water flow to the drain, providing a buffer time for corrective action in case the faucet is accidentally left running or if there's a plumbing issue in your household.
Ensuring the unobstructed performance of the overflow vent is vital. Blockages hinder its functionality, rendering it ineffective in its role.
Regular cleaning is also essential, especially in the humid environment of the bathroom, to prevent the growth of bacteria and mold within the sink's overflow.
In some cases, your faucet may not be compatible with the standard fitting supplied with OVIS. If your faucet has a non-standard aerator, you may need to purchase a separate adapter.
We offer a rubber adapter for an additional charge that fits round faucets up to 1" in diameter.
To determine the thread type of your faucet spout, check if the threads are located inside or outside the end of the spout. Female-threaded spouts have threads inside, while male-threaded spouts have threads outside. For a male-threaded faucet, you need a female-threaded aerator, and for a female-threaded faucet, you need a male-threaded aerator.
To find the correct size aerator, compare the size of the threaded end of your existing aerator or the outlet of the faucet spout to common coins such as a quarter, nickel, and dime.
A regular/standard size aerator will have a thread size of M24 x 1 for male or M22 x 1 for female, and it will be roughly the same diameter as a quarter.
A “Junior” size aerator will have a tread size of M20x1 for male or 18 x 1 for female, and it would be roughly the size of a nickel.
A "Tom Thumb" size aerator will have a thread size of M18 x 1 for male or M16 x 1 for female, and it will be roughly the same diameter as a dime.
Keep in mind that these are approximate measurements, and some faucet brands may use custom sizes. If you know the manufacturer of your faucet, you can contact them for the exact aerator size before ordering.
Aerators come in 3 different sizes : regular size, junior or small size and Tom Thumb size.
Typical "Regular" size for a faucet aerator is 15/16" male threaded or 55/64" female threaded, while "Junior" size is 13/16" male threaded or 3/4" female threaded.
Some faucets use a smaller "Tom Thumb” metric-size aerator, which is M18x1 male threaded or M16x1 female threaded.
Our Snap fitting is the standard or “quarter” size aerator.
If you find that your faucet is smaller (Junior “nickel” or Tom Thumb “dime”) you will need to order an adapter to be used with the standard snap fitting.
